Four nations approaches to the Irish Home Rule crisis

Interested in getting to know us and our research better?

You can find out more about Naomi’s research on the Irish Home Rule crisis by reading her guest blog for the History of Parliament Trust, on the need for a new methodology. Just click here!

This is by no means the only ‘four nations’ approach that can be taken, nor is it a methodology that will work for everyone, every subject or every period. But what it is intended to do is spark debate and show that there is scope for truly nuanced research. What do you think about Naomi’s proposed framework?

This is why we want to hear from you!

We would love for our fellow historians to get in touch and tell us how they  go about researching and writing the modern history of these islands. Why is what you’re doing different and interesting? What can we learn from your approach?

We are looking for guest blogs of around 750 words. So email us at fournationshistory@gmail.com if you want to get involved.
